Over at Titusonenine: "To the moon, Alice."

Alice Linsley is a frequent commenter on T:19. Formerly ordained in the Episcopal Church, she has since renounced her orders. Reason? The Bible tells her so and because the "reasserters," as they dub themselves, don't like women priests any more than they like gay priests or bishops. This is her commentary on the consecration of two American priests to the Church of Kenya -- that bastion of bigotry where they want to preach to gays who aren't worthy to be lay readers in their churches. So much for loving thy neighbor (oh they love them!) and respecting the dignty of every human being!

7. Alice Linsley wrote: We serve an awesome God who raises the dead and restores flesh to dry bones! I am hopeful about the future of Anglicanism. TEC’s capitulation to American secularism is doomed.

Hmmmmmmmmmm......."restores flesh to dry bones".....is she talking about the supersized Bishop Atwood?

This is her hope for the future of the Anglican Communion? Kenya, Nigeria and Uganda founding missions in the US, violating provential boundaries, to promote more anti-gay venom, all in the name of their narrow-minded, judgemental God of exclusion. Makes one proud to be a Christian. (Not!)
The Episcopal Church (TEC) isn't doomed by this narrow-minded brand of Christianity. The reasserters are!!!!!!!!!

The Bigotry of Bishops

THE ARCHBISHOP OF KENYA SPEWS BIGOTRY AS HE CONSCRECRATES TWO AMERICAN PRIESTS AS BISHOPS OF KENYA.

Gay people, he said, did not have a place as leaders in the Anglican communion.
"We need to love them, we need to preach to them, but not to make them lay readers, pastors, bishops," he said.

THESE NEWLY CONSCECRATED BIGOTS...OOOPS.....I MEAN BISHOPS ARE CHARGED WITH CARRYING THAT SAME SICK MISSION AND MESSAGE TO THEIR FELLOW HOMOPHOBES IN THE US.
THESE ARE FEARFUL, STRAIGHT, WHITE, SO-CALLLED CHRISTIANS, WHO CLAIM THE BIBLE JUSTIFIES THIS HOMOPHOBIA.
.
.
.
.
.
.
THIS UNACCEPTABLE AND UNCONSCIONABLE BIGOTRY DOES NOTHING MORE THAN FURTHER PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL AND SPIRITUAL VIOLENCE AGAINST GAYS AND LESBIANS.
.
WE CANNOT TOLERATE NOR ACCEPT THIS KIND OF CHRISTIANITY!!!! IT IS VILE AND UNCHRISTIAN TO IT'S CORE!!!!

Mike Jones on Ted Haggard: "I think he's gay."

TRUTHDIG INTERVIEWS HAGGARD WHISTLEBLOWER

Jones: Well, first of all, Ted Haggard, I think, is a gay man, personally. He grew up in the whole evangelical movement, and that’s what the problem is so many times with these people that give in to these positions, is they really have their own issues. But they don’t know how to deal with it. So, they get into these religious groups where people look to them for guidance and they get money and they get power, and they just can’t be themselves, so they almost live this façade. That’s what the tragedy of it all is; they’re living a lie. And so many people follow them. And, it’s a tragedy. Nobody won in the situation; I didn’t win; Ted Haggard didn’t win. But it’s a shame that he can’t be honest with himself.

Scheer: In your relationship did you ever know about his views? Watching the TV in the gym, did you ever know his views and did you ever confront him while you guys were together?

Jones: You have to remember that I ... saw him for two and a half years before I found out who he was. So he didn’t talk about what he did for work or any of his personal beliefs. I did know he was married and had five kids. I did know that much. So, it was strictly a business situation for me. It was, when he saw me, it was not only for sex, but it was for companionship. It was obviously to be affectionate with a man, that’s what he was looking for. It’s just unfortunate that he was living a double life.

What I'm Reading

“Thousands of people have written to tell me that I am wrong not to believe in God. The most hostile of these communications have come from Christians. This is ironic, as Christians generally imagine that no faith imparts the virtues of love and forgiveness more effectively than their own. The truth is that many who claim to be transformed by Christ’s love are deeply, even murderously, intolerant of criticism. While we may want to ascribe this to human nature, it is clear that such hatred draws considerable support from the Bible. How do I know this? The most disturbed of my correspondents always cite chapter and verse.”
So begins Letter to a Christian Nation…

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck............

Craig Says 'I Am Not Gay'

BOISE, Idaho (AP) - Under fire from leaders of his own party, Idaho Sen. Larry Craig on Tuesday said the only thing he had done wrong was to plead guilty after a complaint of lewd conduct in a men's room. He declared, "I am not gay. I never have been gay."

He's not gay! Hummmmmmmm??

Why did he tap his foot? ( a well-known practice by those soliciting sex in bathrooms.)

Why did he reach his hand into the the undercover cop's stall? Looking for toilet paper perhaps? I don't think so!!!!

Why did he plead guilty then? Oh yes, he was in a hurry??

And the allegations of soliciting gay sex dating back to the 80's?????

Plus the audio tape from a man Craig alledgedly propositioned in Union Station?????

How dumb is this guy??? (Dumber than dirt!)

Pleeeeeeeeeeeassee!

Ooopps, I forgot. He's a REPUBLICAN. Seems as though none of them know how to tell the truth!!!!!

Good News/Good News

Sometimes you get Good News/Bad News ... this week we're getting Good News/Good News.

Yesterday it was the resignation of the worst Attorney General in the history of Law ... Alberto ("Gosh, I don't recall!") Gonzales.

Today is was the news that the Very Reverend Tracey Lind has been included in the list of five nominees for Bishop of Chicago.

Dean Lind has been a great Dean of the Cathedral in Cleveland and would make a great bishop for Chicago ... and "GOOD FOR THE DIOCESE OF CHICAGO" I say, for daring to nominate the right people at the right time and letting the people of Chicago ... not the primates of "wherever" ... make the decision about who their next bishop should be.

Can't wait for tomorrow's news ... maybe we'll be three-for-three! (How "Trinitarian" is that!)

Selig sells out!

Take me out to the ball game,

Take me out to the park,

Buy me some peanuts and STEROIDS,

I don't care ................

Bud Selig obviously doesn't care either. He let Jason Giambi off for steroid use.....WHY??? Because he does charity work! Yes, friends and fans, baseball has gone to the pushers and the steroid, muscle-enhancing drug users. And Bud Selig is okay with that. So, it seems, are the fans who continue to fill the stadiums and cheer on the hyped-up players. Oh, I bet poor ol' Casey weeps in Mudville tonight! I know I do..........................

Mary Winkler: Justice Served or Justice Denied?

The picture perfect family?

What caused this woman.....a seemingly happy wife and mother to pick up a shotgun and shoot her sleeping pastor-husband to death? What drove her to a charge and conviction of manslaughter?

10 long, gruesome, horrible, despicable years of physical, emotional and sexual abuse!

HE HAD IT COMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sentenced to only 210 days. Now released.

JUSTICE SERVED!!!!!!

Lower Drinking Age to 18?

NO! NO! And NO!!!!!!!!!

VERY BAD IDEA!

WE DON'T NEED ANYMORE STUPID DRUNKS ON THE ROAD!

Welcome to My Blog!

I like to think of myself as one with an ecclectic approach to the blogosphere.

Raised to believe that an open mind is a terrible thing to waste, I have tried to keep mine open by reading the broad variety of opinions out there (and some of them are really "out there!") in blogland.

And so I've spent a goodly amount of time haunting political and news blogs like The Huffington Post or The Drudge Report and lurking on church blogs like Titusoenine, An Inch At A Time or Fr. Jake Stops the World -- offering the occasional comment along the way.

My occasional comments have occasionally been met with the response, "So why don't you get your OWN blog?"

And so I finally did. This is it.

Welcome!
Fred
